Once a bright, lively forest of beautiful trees and tranquil streams, Felwood was just as breath taking as Ashenvale. Animals roamed freely through the tall, luscious trees. The Kal'dorei stood guard over any intruders that may have attempted to harm the forests, and they were successful for a long time. Overall, Felwood was prospering. Growth and life were seen everywhere, and it was as much as paradise as anyone could ask.
Then the Burning Legion arrived on Azeroth. Corrupted by the Skull of Gul'dan during the fight between Illidan Stormrage and Tichondrius the Darkener, Felwood was tainted by the fel energies of the Burning Legion. Tichondrius used the Skull's powers to destroy the area, until Illidan consumed the skull and killed him. No tree ever grew taller. No stream was ever blue. The sky was forever green. Tainted by the demonic forces of the Skull of Gul'dan, green ooze crept out of every orifice in the ground. The ancients that guarded the peaceful forest now wander mindlessly, their bark and limbs twisted by the fel. Once a paradise of magnificent growth, the forest had now become a place of death.
